Name Day Today answers a reader’s question and helps them use the answer. A name-day date is meaningful only with its calendar and tradition attached. Every exact name is checked within its own calendar, and cultural guides explain differences rather than flattening them.
Calendar records
In the Latvian calendar, traditional entries and expanded text stay separate. An expanded spelling note does not silently become an exact traditional entry. Dates recur annually; weekday positions depend on the year.
We distinguish a secular name list from a saint’s feast and a primary entry from a related form. We do not infer a worldwide date from one national list. If a tradition has multiple valid dates, the article explains the choice rather than declaring a universal winner.
Review and updates
An article is checked for names, spelling, dates, calendar type, internal links and readability before release. Time-sensitive claims require the applicable year. Evergreen articles are updated when a calendar changes or a correction shows that an answer is incomplete. We do not add a date merely to make an old page appear new.
Original wishes and gift suggestions are creative editorial material; they are not reported historical facts. Cultural claims in those pieces still require context. A commercial recommendation, if present, does not change a factual answer.
